Catching up...

So obviously it has been quite a while since this blog got updated.  I figured before I got totally crazy with uploading that I would just bring you up to speed on all of Sean's growing!

Sean had his 15 month check-up back on September 26th and he is doing great!  At that time, he weighed in at 22.5 pounds and was 30 inches long, which is probably off by about half an inch since he was too busy moving all over to get an accurate measurement.  He is still a skinny, little guy, which confuses me to no end.  If you could see the amount of food this boy puts away, you would swear he was a teenager!

As of today, Sean is still not walking.  He seriously does everything but walk!  I think he may just skip walking and go straight to running.  He knows how to cruise.  He can go from sitting to standing.  He walks behind push toys.  He climbs a few stairs.  He backs off of couches and chairs.  He just won't take a single step without some kind of assistance.  One day, Mike and I watched him go from sitting to standing and we stood there with baited breathes as we thought "this is it" and he just stood there...and then plopped. One day.  And when that day comes, Mike and I are going to be exhausted.

Sean continues to amaze us daily with something new he has learned.  He is quite the character and has us laughing a lot!  Sean plays constantly and plays hard.  He gets into just about everything and enjoys it!  Whether he is playing cars, lining up his little people figures on the coffee table, to reading or chasing Jack, he is always busy!  Sean has "stations" on every floor of the house and all of those stations have two things in common.  Cars and books.  Sean's love of books (and now magazines) continues to grow.  Most parents usually get worried when they hear a quiet kid.  We do too and when we go to investigate, nine times out of ten, he is sitting quietly flipping through books.  That one time he's not...he's playing in Jack's water bowl.  Sean also loves cars.  He makes a pretty awesome car sound when he's driving them around too...it's pretty adorable.  If I had to list a few of his favorite things right now, I would definitely say books, cars/trucks, animals, music and food.

Sean continues to bless us in the sleep department.  He does however stay up later so he is able to have dinner with us, then bath time, story time and bed.  He is asleep most weeknights by 6:30 and sleeps until the next morning.  He generally takes at least one nap a day...usually two.

I often get asked who I think Sean is more like personality wise, because let's face it we all know who he looks like!  Mike and I both agree that Sean is a good mix of both of us.  I of course like to blame his occasional attitude on Mike (duh).  Sean is definitely opinionated and is very much wanting to be independent.  He sometimes gets frustrated when he can't figure something out, but he also will get frustrated if we make him do something that is not on his agenda.  I will say that I think we are fortunate in the fact that his frustration is generally short lived and he moves onto something else.  Sean has a very limited vocabulary at this point, but he definitely understands when we give him some kind of instruction.  If he wants something from us and can't get our attention, there is generally some kind of "Mom, Mom, Mom" or "Da, Da, Da" followed by a very high pitched squeal that could wake the dead.

He's got us and pretty much anyone in his circle wrapped around his finger and we honestly wouldn't want it any other way.  He is such an absolute joy.  Words cannot describe the love we have for him.
